The first time we mix in a glass the yeast, the sugar and 200 ml of milk. Set aside for 10 minutes. We sift the flour in a bowl, together with the baking powder.
Add to the flour bowl, the above mayonnaise, egg, butter, orange peel, lemon essence and a pinch of salt. Knead a dough well, elastic and leave it to rise, in a warm place, for about 1 hour, until it doubles in volume.
After the dough has risen, spread it on the floured table in a sheet about 1 cm thick and cut circles with a shape or a glass. In the middle I cut a circle with the help of the apple peeler. Let the donuts rise for about 25 minutes.
Heat the oil in a fairly high pan and fry the donuts on both sides until golden. We take them out on an absorbent napkin and we give them powdered sugar. Serve hot or cold, next to a glass of milk, coffee, hot chocolate ... Enjoy!
