Cooking English ketchup:

Step 1: We process tomatoes.

Rinse the tomatoes thoroughly in running water, then scald them with boiling water in a bowl, cut them on top with a cross and remove the skin (with your hands or with a knife, like peeling a boiled potato). Chop vegetables cubes (about 0.5-0.8 cm in size).

Step 2: Peel and cut the onions.

Using a sharp knife, peel the onion husk from the onions, wash the vegetables and finely cut into cubes on a cutting board.

Step 3: Cut Celery.

This ingredient is present in the recipe - optional. The washed celery is peeled and chopped (as finely as possible - in cubes of 0.5-0.8 cm.).

Step 4: Cook the ketchup.

The processed tomatoes, celery and onions are put in an enameled pan, add half the water specified in the recipe (preferably boiled, room temperature), put on a slow fire. The above ingredients are cooked in an enameled bowl until soft, continuously stirring with a wooden spatula, avoiding burning. Estimated Cooking Time - 40-50 minutes.

Step 5: Wipe the vegetables.

Wipe boiled vegetables through a fine sieve (for convenience, you can use a blender). Again we put the mixture on a slow fire, but with the addition of a bag of spices, which includes: vinegar, salt, sugar. Cook with stir frequently with a wooden spatula, avoiding burning, until all the water has evaporated. Turn off the gas. Remove the bag of spices from the pan.

Step 6: Pour the finished ketchup into cans (bottles).

We pour hot ketchup into sterile bottles and seal. Store the sauce in cool location.

Step 7: Serve the English ketchup.

English ketchup is an excellent seasoning for meat and fish dishes, it looks delicious and combines: with meatballs, chops, dumplings, fried and stewed fish, spaghetti, smoked sausages, etc.! Enjoy your meal!
