Ingredients for Cooking Lentil Pies

For minced meat:

Cooking pies with lentils:

Step 1: prepare the lentils.

For starters, select and remove lentils damaged fruits. Then discard the lentils in a fine sieve and rinse under running water. Place the lentils in a deep pan, fill with water so that it completely covers the fruits and is 2 to 3 taller than them. Place the pot with the ingredient on a stove that is on a strong level. To prevent lentils from boiling, add to water 1 teaspoon of vinegar and salt to taste. Cook lentils 30 minutes, no more, during this time it will reach the desired consistency, and its structure will become soft. After draining the water, discard the lentils on a fine sieve, let the remaining liquids drain and transfer to a deep bowl. Peel the onion with a knife, rinse it under running water, lay it on a cutting board and chop it with a medium cube with an approximate diameter of 1 per 1 centimeter. On a stove included, at a medium level, put the pan, pour vegetable oil into it and heat it. Put the onion in the heated oil and simmer it for 45 minutes until transparent, then add lentils and simmer 2 ingredients together yet 5 to 7 minutes then transfer them back into a deep bowl. Season the minced meat to taste with black ground pepper, hops - suneli and ground paprika.

Step 2: prepare the dough for the lentil pies.

Lentil pies can be prepared from different types of dough, but you and I will go along the simplest and most delicious way, prepare the dough on kefir. To do this, pour sifted wheat flour into a deep bowl, make a small depression in the center of it, and add vegetable oil, salt, sugar. Then pour in the kefir, beat the chicken egg without shell, and put the baking soda with vinegar directly into a bowl with all the ingredients. Knead the dough with a tablespoon or hand until it becomes lumpy and thick enough to knead it on the table. Then add more 1 to 2 tablespoons vegetable oil Put the dough on the kitchen table. Pre-sprinkled with wheat flour and pour out a medium-density dough. High-quality dough should not stick to your hands and be without lumps, homogeneous mass. Place the finished dough in a deep bowl in which it was prepared, and let it brew 10 to 15 minutes. If it floats, knead the dough again, to the desired consistency.

Step 3: we make pies with lentils.

Divide the finished dough with a knife into 2 - 3 parts, take pieces of dough one by one, roll them into bundles with your hands and cut into small pieces with an approximate mass in 150 - 200 grams. Twist the balls from the pieces of dough and crush them with the palm of your hand. It should make cakes with approximately thickness up to 1 centimeter. Lay in the middle of the resulting cakes 2 tablespoons each forcemeat from lentils and blind the pie, smoothly connecting the edges of the tortilla along the edges with your fingers. Fill the pies thus formed in wheat flour and place them on a wooden cutting board sprinkled with flour. In the same way, prepare all the pies until the stuffing ends.

Step 4: Fry the lentil pies.

After you have formed all the pies, turn on the stove to a medium level and place a frying pan with vegetable oil on it. Gently lower a few pies into the heated oil and fry them on both sides, periodically turning them from one side to the other with a kitchen spatula. Brown the pies from all sides to golden brown or fry them as you like. Place the finished cakes on a large flat plate and taste forwards!

Step 5: Serve the lentil pies.

Lentil pies are served warm, laid on a large flat plate with a slide. By tradition, several deep bowls with various types of sauces are placed next to them, for example, fragrant tomato sauce, sour cream, yogurt sauce, cucumber sauce or any other that you like.
