Cooking chicken with potatoes in a double boiler:

Step 1: prepare the ingredients.

To prepare this dish, it is better to take old potatoes, it will reach full readiness along with all the other ingredients at the same time, unlike young potatoes, which will be steamed faster than chicken meat. We clean the tubers along with carrots and onions from the peel with a kitchen knife. Alternately, we wash the vegetables along with dill greens under cold running water from any kind of contamination and dry them with paper kitchen towels from excess liquid. We just shake the greens over the sink, getting rid of droplets of water.

Then, in turn, we put vegetables and herbs on a cutting board and chop, potatoes with a cube with a diameter of up to 2 - 2,5 centimeters.

Onion cut into a cube with a diameter of up to 1 centimeter.

Rub carrots on a coarse grater.

Dill greens finely chopped.

We wash the chicken meat and dry it with paper kitchen towels. We put the fillet on a clean cutting board, designed for cutting raw meat, and cut it into portioned slices up to 3 centimeters.

Ship all chopped foods to a clean, deep bowl.

Step 2: mix and season the ingredients.

Now, in order for the dish to turn out to be fresh, it must be seasoned with spices; in a bowl with all the ingredients, add a little salt, universal chicken seasoning and all other spices.

After pouring a little refined vegetable oil into the container, 30 milliliters is enough. With clean hands, mix foods with spices and fat so that dry spices envelop pieces of all the ingredients. We leave them in this form for 5 - 7 minutes in order.

Step 3: prepare the double boiler.

We take the instructions of the double boiler and study it very carefully, it indicates the mass of water that must be poured into the lower compartment for the preparation of a particular product. In my case, this is a “Brown” double boiler, therefore, based on personal experience, we pour water to the maximum compartment, that is, to the very top division

Step 4: cook the chicken and potatoes in a double boiler.

In a double boiler basket we transfer the insisted vegetables with meat.

We install it on a pallet and put it on a double boiler.

Cover the basket with a lid.

We turn on the steamer timer for 40 minutes, and go to do any other household chores.
After the required time has elapsed, the double boiler timer will turn itself off, notifying you of this with a characteristic ringing sound. The lid from the kitchen appliance should not be removed immediately; we recall that hot steam has accumulated under it, which can burn the skin.

We wait 2 to 3 minutes and only then remove the lid from the double boiler.

We take a fork and check the readiness of the potato, insert the prongs into one of the slices of the tuber, they should enter gently without pressure.

We also do meat. If the slicing is done correctly, then all the ingredients of the dish will be steamed in 40 minutes, and if the pieces of chicken and tubers are larger in diameter than stated in the recipe, the products may be slightly raw. In this case, it is worth steaming them for another 15 to 20 minutes until fully cooked.

With the help of a tablespoon, we lay out the finished potatoes with meat on the plates, arrange the fragrant dish with our favorite fresh vegetables and serve.
