Mushrooms croutons


Ingredients for making croutons with mushrooms

Cooking croutons with mushrooms:

Step 1: prepare vegetables and herbs.


We start cooking with the preparation of vegetables and herbs. We peel the onions and garlic cloves from the husks, rinse them under cold running water along with herbs. We put onion with a clove of garlic on a chopping board and finely chop it into pieces of any shape, onion up to 1 centimeter, garlic up to 5 millimeters. Shredded vegetables are transferred to a clean plate.

We chop the washed greens at will and put in a separate plate.

Step 2: chop the mushrooms.


We wash the champignons under running water and wipe them dry with a kitchen towel so that they do not absorb excess moisture. After that, put the mushrooms on a cutting board, cut off the edge of the leg with a knife and, if necessary, remove the film from the hat. Then we cut them lengthwise into several parts and put them in a plate.

Step 3: prepare the mushroom filling.


Next, turn on the temperature of the stove to a medium level, pour vegetable oil into the pan and put on fire. When the fat warms up, put the onion with garlic in it and with constant stirring with a kitchen spatula, fry the vegetables until soft.

After adding mushrooms, salt, black pepper, mix thoroughly and cover.

After 3 to 4 minutes, remove the lid and prepare the mushroom filling until the liquid is completely evaporated. Then turn off the heat and set the pan aside.

Step 4: prepare the cheese.


After we have prepared the mushroom stuffing, go to the cheese. Cheese can be grated or cut into thin plates, this will not affect the taste of the dish.

Step 5: prepare croutons for baking.


Now put the slices of bread in a clean frying pan and put on a strong fire. Fry the bread on both sides for about 1 minute. Then put in a plate and wait a few minutes for them to cool. Next, rub the dried bread with the remaining cloves of garlic.

Step 6: prepare croutons.


We turn on the oven at 200 degrees Celsius or set the grill mode. In the meantime, it is heated by covering the baking sheet with foil and lubricating it with a small amount of vegetable oil.

Next, spread the bread slices, cheese and mushroom filling. Set the baking sheet in the oven and bake the dish 3 - 5 minutes or until the cheese is completely melted. After we take out the baking sheet from the oven, and the croutons themselves leave for a few minutes to cool at room temperature.

Step 7: prepare the nuts.


You can use absolutely any nuts for our recipe, the ones you like best, in our case it’s a hazelnut. We rinse them under running water and grind them to the desired size either with a knife on a cutting board, or lay them in a plastic bag and grind them with a nibbler or rolling pin.

Step 8: serve croutons with mushrooms.


Lightly cooled croutons are decorated with greens and nuts and served for breakfast or dinner. As a drink, you can make aromatic tea or invigorating coffee in Turk.
